Four Board Stool

I designed and constructed a four-board Poplar stool, designed to have multiple uses, as a step stool, easily accessible storage space, and a stool with two possible orientations, both being stable and visually balanced.

Process

I added a cut-out ‘step’ design in the stool, playing with the negative space, and creating an opening for which books or other stored objects can be seen in dynamic way.
